About Us
Restaurant owner Janny Matos was born in the Dominican Republic in a small, impoverished town of Oviedo. She assisted her mother in the kitchen as a little girl, developing her God-Given culinary talent. While her mother worked as a full-time teacher, Janny always made sure to have her mother’s dinner ready. Mastering all of her Family’s recipes at an early age would inspire her to open her restaurant.
Janny Matos later moved to Clayton, North Carolina, from New York, where she resided for 23 years. In 2011, she finally decided she would use her God-Given talents and her family recipes and began introducing Caribbean food to the people of Raleigh, where she rented a kitchen. On her morning drives to Raleigh from Clayton, Janny would ask God for a restaurant right here in Clayton. On April 17, 2015, God answered those prayers, and Caribbean Delight finally opened in Clayton.

Women In War Foundation
We are a non-profit organization committed to helping children and people in extreme poverty. We distribute food and clothing to the Dominican Republic and Haiti border. Your contributions and donations make it possible to aid families in desperate need.
